Blog/ Kitchen Trends for 2019
The kitchen is the heart of any home. It’s where families and friends gather to cook and share meals together.

Being the busiest space in the home it generally influences the design of the rest of the house, especially if the home has an open plan layout.

If you are looking for inspiration for your space, read on about what we predict the biggest trends will be in 2019.

1. Minimalism

Because less is more. Having minimal finishes will create a cleaner looking kitchen. Try to limit the kitchen joinery to only three different colours or materials.

2. Stone Tops

Adding a stone top to your counter bench is a nice way to add a little luxury to your home. Not only do they look great, they are very durable and easy to clean.

Hint: Match your splashback with your stone benchtop for a consistent and cleaner looking kitchen

3. Indoor Plants

Indoor plants not only look great, but reduce stress and create a feeling of well-being. The kitchen is a great place for indoor plants as it has good ventilation and plenty of light.

Hint: If you are limited for shelf space why not try hanging plants as they require minimal maintenance and look vibrant and fresh.

4. Integrated Finger Pulls

Integrated finger pulls are a popular item, they leave the kitchen with a flat smooth finish for an effortlessly stylish look. Eliminating the need for handles not only is a timeless style, but it gives an overall contemporary finish to a home.

5. Two Toned Cabinetries

Having two tones creates diversity and interest in your space, as well as aesthetic appeal. An innovative trend is reversing the colours so the darker tone is on the overhead cupboards and the lighter tone is on the under bench cupboards. This often works well as a kitchen has a great amount of natural light.

Hint: Use a splashback and countertop material that will compliment both cabinetry colours for a clean and finished look
